7th Pay Commission : After increasing DA by 53 percent, the government increased 2 more allowances, the salary of these central government employees will increase

The government has increased the dress and nursing allowance in the salary of the employees associated with the health sector of the central government.

Increase in allowances on 50% DA

According to the 7th Pay Commission, when the dearness allowance reaches 50% or more, a 25% increase in other allowances is recommended. Under this, a 25% increase was implemented in 13 major allowances from January 1, 2024. Now apart from dearness allowance, it has been announced to increase 2 new allowances.

Increase in dress and nursing allowance

Increase in dress allowance and nursing allowance was announced in September 2024.

Dress Allowance: According to the office memorandum of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare dated 17 September 2024, when DA increases to 50%, the dress allowance is increased by 25%.

Nursing Allowance: This allowance is given to nurses working in all government hospitals and dispensaries. According to the ministry, nursing allowance is also increased by 25% when DA is 50%. This instruction is also applicable to central hospitals, such as AIIMS, PGIMER, JIPMER etc.

When will the 8th Pay Commission come

The Pay Commission is usually constituted every 10 years. The 7th Pay Commission was set up on 28 February 2014 by the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, which submitted its recommendations on 19 November 2015. These recommendations were implemented from 1 January 2016. There is no official information yet on the announcement of the 8th Pay Commission, but it is expected to be constituted next year.
