The government employees of the country are eagerly waiting for the interim budget. The Finance Minister will present the interim budget on 1 February. In which fitment factor can be announced.
The Central Employees Association has been demanding its increase for a long time. The salary of government employees is decided on the basis of this fitment factor. Let us try to understand this with an example.
At present the fitment factor is 2.57 percent. If someone’s grade pay is Rs 4200 then his basic salary will be Rs 15,500. In this case, the total salary of the employee will be Rs 15,500×2.57 i.e. Rs 39,835. There is a demand of the employees that the fitment factor should be increased to 3.68. If this happens then the basic salary will increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000.

If the government increases the fitment factor in the interim budget, then 48 lakh employees of the country will benefit. Due to increase in basic salary, there will be increase in allowances.

The budget coming on February 1 will be the last budget of the present government. Which will be interim. This will also be the 6th budget to be tabled by Nirmala Sitharaman. After the formation of the Modi government in 2019, he presented his first full budget in July.
