7th Pay Commission : Big update on DA hike, know when and how much dearness allowance will increase?

Waiting for DA hike for central employees

Actually, the central government revises dearness allowance and dearness relief twice a year. The first amendment comes into effect from January 1 and the second from July 1. The last revision in dearness allowance was announced before Holi on 24 March 2023, which is effective from 1 January 2023.

At that time the central employees got the gift of 4 per cent increase in dearness allowance. After this DA was increased from 38 to 42 percent. At present, central employees are getting dearness allowance at the rate of 42 per cent.

Employees can get a big gift in September

At the same time, the central employees and pensioners are waiting for the announcement of the second increase in dearness allowance. According to the news going on in the media, the government may announce an increase in dearness allowance in the next month i.e. September.

DA hike on AICPI index figure

Let us tell you that the Central Government gives DA ie Dearness Allowance to its employees to reduce the burden of inflation and to maintain their standard of living better. The government calculates this twice a year every 6 months on the basis of the data of AICPI index released by the Ministry of Labour. The calculation of dearness allowance goes on the basic salary of the employees on the basis of the respective pay scale.

According to media reports, this time there may be an increase of 4 or 3 percent in dearness allowance and dearness relief. However, on the basis of the data of AICPI index, it is being speculated that there may be a 4 percent increase in the dearness allowance of central employees this time also. However, how much will be the increase in dearness allowance this time, it will be clear only after the official announcement from the government.

4% hike in DA expected

If there is a 4 per cent increase in dearness allowance this time too, it will increase from the current 42 per cent to 46 per cent. The increase in the salary of its central employees can be from Rs 8000 to Rs 27000 annually.
