This increase will be considered effective from 1 July 2023. According to the news coming in the media, the increase in DA and DR has been announced by the Central Government in September. However, no official statement has come out regarding this yet.
According to the news, this time the central government can increase the dearness allowance by four or three percent. In fact, the central government announces an increase in dearness relief on the basis of the AICPI figures released by the Ministry of Labour. According to the AICPI data released from January to June, this time DA and DR may increase by 4 percent. Let us tell you that the increase in dearness allowance is done by the government on the basis of inflation data of six months.
However, speculations are also being made in the media that this time instead of DA and DR 4, there will be an increase of 3 percent only. However, the final decision will be of the government and it will announce the increase according to its own. This hike will be done on the basis of 7th Pay Commission DA Hike formula.
Significantly, DA of central employees and DR of pensioners are revised twice a year. The last time DA was increased by 4 percent in March. After which it increased from 38 to 42 percent. This time, if there is a 4 per cent increase in DA-DR, it will increase to 46 per cent, whereas with a 3 per cent increase, it will reach the level of 45 per cent.
