Dearness Allowance DA Hike: Himachal Pradesh government has given a big relief by increasing the dearness allowance of government employees. Earlier, a notification to restore the old pension scheme (OPS) was issued by the state government. The old pension has been implemented from April 1 for all the employees by the state government. After this, the gift of Dearness Allowance / Dearness Relief (DA / DR) has been given by the government. All employees and pensioners will get its benefit from January 1, 2022.
DA came into force a year and a half ago
While announcing the dearness allowance on behalf of the Himachal government, it was said that the government employees of the state will get 3 percent additional dearness allowance (DA). The Chief Secretary issued a notification saying that from January 1, 2022, the Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) has been increased from the existing 31 percent to 34 percent. The government’s order will also be applicable to officers of All India Services, Himachal Pradesh Judicial Service and employees coming under UGC cadre.
DA will be paid from April
It was said in the notification that additional DA will be paid from April. Wherein the arrears from January 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023 (15 months) will be deposited in the GPF account. A lump sum amount will be deposited by the government in the GPF account of the employees. This step of the Sukhwinder Sukhu-led government will directly benefit more than 2.15 lakh employees and 90,000 pensioners.
DA of central employees became 42%.
Earlier, notification for restoration of old pension for state employees was issued by the government. Along with this, the government had also announced to give 1500 rupees a month to women. Let us tell you that the DA of central employees has been amended from January 1, 2023. The government has increased it from 38 percent to 42 percent, which has come into effect from January 1, 2023.
