7th Pay Commission: Even before Christmas and New Year, the state has announced 3 percent dearness allowance increase for government employees. He has also promised to give advance salary for December.
Now only a few days are left for the new year to start. Even before this, government employees have received two big gifts. The state government has announced a 3 percent increase in the Dearness Allowance of employees. Besides, advance salary has also been promised. The increase in dearness allowance will be effective from July 1, 2023. This will benefit 55000 employees.
Meghalaya State Government said that the December salary of 55000 government employees will be released soon (Advance Salary Issue). In such a situation, the salary of these employees will increase for December.

How much is the dearness allowance now?
The Chief Minister has also shared a letter, according to which the Governor has decided to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) for employees and pensioners from 36 percent to 39 percent from July 1. Besides, advance salary will also be released before New Year and on Christmas. Employees are expected to get great relief from this announcement.
Punjab government also increased the dearness allowance.
Before the Meghalaya government, the Punjab government had announced 4% DA hike for the employees. This increase was made under the Seventh Pay Commission. However, this increase will be considered effective from December 1.
Punjab State Ministerial Services Union (PSMSU) President Amrik Singh had said that with this increase, the Dearness Allowance of state employees will increase to 38 percent. He said that after this increase, 8 percent more dearness allowance will also be increased soon.
Central employees can also get a gift:
Under the 7th Pay Commission, central government employees can also soon get the gift of increase in dearness allowance (DA Hike News). It is expected that the 4 percent increase in dearness allowance, effective from January, can be announced any time during the first month of the new year.
If the government announces 4 percent inflation increase, then the DA of government employees will increase to 50 percent. Whereas the AICPI index numbers will be released by 31st December, in such a situation it will become more clear how much the DA of the employees will increase.
