The Modi government has given an important gift to the central employees. Many facilities have been made available to them before the increase in dearness allowance. Notification has also been issued for this. They will get the benefit of the facilities only as per the fixed rules.

7th Pay Commission, LTC Rule: The Modi government has given an important gift to the central employees. Before the increase in dearness allowance, new rules have been fixed regarding their traveling allowance. The benefit of which will be given to the central employees. However, it will be mandatory for the government employees to follow this rule for travel allowance.

Changes in LTC rules

The central government has changed the rules of LTC, giving an increase to the central employees. Under this, many other facilities will be made available to the central employees during the journey. Notification for this has also been issued by the Department of Personnel and Training. Three important changes have been given place in the issued notification.

Reimbursement of food expenses while traveling

According to the issued DoPT notification, central employees will also be paid for the food expenses incurred while traveling in the train during the LTC journey. Under this rule, during LTC, employees will be able to choose from the railway’s catering option in the train and the amount spent on them will be paid by the Central Government.

However, the employee will be reimbursed the amount of his expenses only if he opts for railway catering. For this, this facility will be made available only after opting for some eligible trains.

Changes in air ticket booking rules as well

Apart from this, the air ticket booking rules have also been changed. If an air ticket is booked by an employee under LTC and has to be canceled due to any reason, the cancellation charges levied under the airlines, agent, platform will be paid to the employee. In such a situation, on cancellation of the air ticket, the platform agent and the cancellation charge by the airlines will be made available to the employees by the government.

LTC Rule: Bus and train fare available for short route

Not only this, under the order issued by the Ministry of Personnel, employees who are not entitled to LTC air travel will not be required to book tickets through IRCTC, BLCL, ATT for refund. They will be provided bus and train fare for the shortest route. However, if this ticket is canceled by the central employees, then the cancellation charges will have to be paid by the employees.

However, in case of Special Exemption Scheme Government employees are not entitled to travel by air under LTC but they will be required to book if they want to travel by air to the desired place of travel in the Union Territory of North Eastern Region Jammu Kashmir Ladakh A&N.

Their air ticket will be done through three only. Along with this, the department has clarified that there is no need to re-open the cases which have already been settled. Reimbursement in respect of LTC travel will be decided as per the medicine instructions.
