Jharkhand: With the increase in dearness allowance by four per cent, the DA of state government employees will also become equal to that of central government employees. This will benefit 19,3000 employees of the state.

7Th Pay Commission: The Jharkhand government on Thursday decided to increase the dearness allowance of its employees and pensioners by four percent to 42 percent from January 1 this year. Jharkhand Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel told the media that this decision was taken in the state cabinet meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

The state government will have to spend an additional Rs 441 crore 52 lakh on salary payment. After the four percent increase in the dearness allowance of the state government employees, now it has increased to 42 percent.

At present, till now the dearness allowance of the government employees of Jharkhand was 38 percent. On the other hand, due to the increase in dearness allowance by 4 percent, the DA of state government employees will also become equal to that of central government employees. This will benefit 19,3000 employees of the state. Earlier, the Hemant government had increased the dearness allowance from 34 per cent to 38 per cent, giving a big gift to the government employees before Diwali last year.

How much will be the benefit

According to the information, by increasing the dearness allowance, the state employees will benefit from at least 500 rupees to the officers up to 9 thousand rupees every month. Significantly, the Modi government at the Center had increased the pay scale of government employees from 38 percent to 42 percent in the cabinet meeting held in March.

How much was the allowance increased before?

Earlier, the dearness allowance of state government employees and pensioners was increased from 34 per cent to 38 per cent. 19,3000 employees of the state were benefited by this. Due to increase in DA, an additional burden of 42 crores had increased on the state government.

At that time, due to the increase in dearness allowance, there was an increase in the salary of the workers from 500 to 9500 rupees. Along with this, the DA of pensioners and family pensioners was also increased by this much.
