7th Pay Commission: What is the new AICPI-IW figure indicating, will the dearness allowance be 46 percent…?

7th Pay Commission: A new update has come out for central employees. Dearness Allowance may be increased soon under the Seventh Pay Commission. It is being speculated to increase in the month of August. In such a situation, the biggest question is that by what percentage can the dearness allowance be increased. AICPI-IW data for the month of June has been released. Let us know by what percentage the dearness allowance will increase.

Labor Bureau recently released the All India CPI-IW data for the month of June 2023. Compared to May 2023 in the previous month, the index increased by 1.7 percent to 136.4 percent in June. The one-month percentage change in the AICPI-IW number has increased by 1.26 per cent as compared to May last month. According to a statement shared by the Labor Bureau, the maximum upward pressure on the current index came from inflation in food and beverages.

Inflation increased due to these things

According to a statement by the labor bureau, rice, wheat, flour, arhar dal, moong dal, fresh fish, poultry chicken, egg-hen, apple, banana, brinjal, carrot, ginger, cauliflower, green chilli, potato, onion, tomato, Cumin, cumin, betel nut, casual wear, canvas shoes, utensils, medicine etc are responsible for the increase in the index. However, this increase was mainly capped by the prices of mustard oil, palm oil, safflower oil, coconut oil, lemon, mango, kerosene oil etc.

How much percent dearness allowance is expected to increase

The DA and Dearness Relief (DR) rates for central government employees and pensioners are decided on the basis of all-India CPI-IW data of the central government. In such a situation, the dearness relief and dearness allowance given to the employees and pensioners is 42 percent. The new AICPI-IW data indicates that DA and DR may increase by 4 per cent. The DA score has increased to 46.24 per cent in June.

Central government will decide

The DA score may be showing an increase of 4 per cent, but the final decision has to be taken by the government. DA is increased twice a year under the Seventh Pay Commission. The first hike takes place at the beginning of the year, while the second hike is done during the month of July. The next issue of AICPI-IW for the month of July 2023 will be released on 31 August 2023.
