There are many regulatory changes on the first date of every month. These have a direct impact on the pockets of consumers. Many rules are also going to change from 1 December 2024, which are very important for consumers. These include rules related to your cooking gas to banking, telecom and tourism. Let’s know about them in detail.

Will OTP be stopped?

Suspicious OTPs often lead to big frauds, due to which people’s bank accounts are cleared many times. But, in these cases it is very difficult to trace the scammers. Now the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has asked telecom companies to provide message traceability. This means that telecom companies will have to make arrangements to find out where a message has been generated from. If companies are unable to follow this rule, then users may stop getting OTP or there may be a delay in it.

Trip to Maldives will be expensive

Maldives is one of the most famous tourist destinations, especially for Indian tourists. But, now visiting this archipelago is going to be expensive. Now the fee for economy-class passengers will increase from $30 (Rs 2,532) to $50 (Rs 4,220). At the same time, business-class passengers will have to pay a fee of $120 (Rs 10,129) instead of $60 (Rs 5,064). At the same time, first class passengers will have to pay $240 (Rs 20,257) instead of $90 (Rs 7,597). Private jet passengers will have to pay $480 (Rs 40,515) instead of $120 (Rs 10,129).

Change in gas cylinder prices

Oil marketing companies change the prices of gas cylinders on the first of every month. This trend will continue on December 1 as well. In the last few months, the prices of commercial gas cylinders have been revised several times, but the price of domestic gas cylinders remains the same. Oil companies also change the prices of aviation fuel on the 1st of the month. Based on this, airfares are sometimes cheaper or costlier.

Credit card rules will also change

Yes Bank will limit the number of reward points that can be redeemed for flights and hotels from December 1. HDFC Bank is also changing lounge access rules for users of its Regalia credit card. As per the new rules, users will have to spend Rs 1 lakh each quarter to be eligible for lounge access from December 1. Similarly, State Bank of India and Axis Bank have also revised reward point rules and credit card fees for their individual users.
