8th Pay Commission Salary Hike: The Narendra Modi government at the center has approved the 8th Pay Commission. With this announcement of the government, central employees are wondering how much their salary will increase. So far, many estimates have been made about the fitment factor in the 8th Pay Commission.

If reports are to be believed, the fitment factor can be fixed anything between 1.92, 2.08 and 2.86. If the fitment factor is up to a maximum of 2.86, then the minimum basic salary can increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 51,480. Here we are telling you how much the salary of central employees will increase according to different fitment factors and levels.

How will the salary be decided in the 8th Pay Commission

The 8th Pay Commission is expected to be implemented in the country in early 2026. In January, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the 8th Central Pay Commission. The chairman and two members of the commission will be appointed soon. However, there is no update on this yet. This commission will do research for revision in salary and pension and will submit its report to the government. On the basis of that report, the government will decide the salary of the employees and the pension of the pensioners.

What is the fitment factor?

The basic salary of central employees is decided on the basis of the fitment factor. The higher the fitment factor, the higher the salary. In the 7th Pay Commission, the fitment factor was fixed at 2.57. Then the minimum basic salary increased from Rs 7,000 to Rs 18,000. Now if media reports are to be believed, the fitment factor will be fixed somewhere between 1.92, 2.08 and 2.86.
