Jharkhand government has sought a loan of 1500 crores from Reserve Bank of India to pursue development plans. This loan has been sought under fiscal responsibility and budget management, in which states have a provision to take loan up to 3% of state GDP.
The state will get this loan at 6.92% annual interest and it has to be repaid in 3 years. Finance Secretary Prashant Kumar has sent a letter to RBI in this regard. Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore said that this is the right of the state and this loan has been sought under financial management. He said that this amount will be spent on development works.
The state government claims that the grant of Rs 11000 crore from the central government has not been received yet. In this matter, Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and demanded the state’s share. 57000 schemes of Jal Jeevan Mission are pending in the state and a grant of Rs 6000 crore has not been received under this. The state government is also demanding this grant.
Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore will hold an online review meeting with the state’s commercial tax officers at 9 am on Wednesday. The meeting will also be attended by the Commercial Tax Secretary, Commissioner and Commercial Tax Officers of the districts. During this, the Finance Minister will evaluate the revenue collection so far and discuss the plan for maximum revenue collection by March 31. It is being told that the revenue collection situation is weak in many districts, for improving which this meeting is considered important.
