Maruti Mile Stone : This happened for the first time in the history of Maruti Suzuki! What will be its effect on car buyers

Maruti Mile Stone: Maruti, the country’s largest car manufacturer, has given a place to an Indian in its board for the first time in its history. Along with this, the company has also approved setting up its third production unit in Haryana, which will increase the annual production capacity significantly.

Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest car manufacturer, has appointed an Indian to its board of directors for the first time in its history. An Indian has been appointed to the company’s board, who will be responsible for setting up a new plant. The company is going to set up another unit in Haryana to increase its production. The funds for this have also been approved and the construction of the unit will start soon.

Maruti Suzuki Chairman RC Bhargava said on Wednesday that the board of directors of Maruti Suzuki has approved the appointment of an Indian employee to the board for the first time in the company’s history. The company’s board has appointed Sunil Kakkar as Director Corporate Planning. It is worth noting that Chairman RC Bhargava and former MD Jagdish Khattar were appointed to the board by the government and not by the company. Customers will also benefit from the new production unit, as they will no longer have to wait long for their favorite car.

Milestone for the company

RC Bhargava termed the move as a historic milestone for the company and said that it will ensure better coordination between Suzuki Japan and Maruti Suzuki at the highest level. Apart from this, Maruti Suzuki India announced that its board has approved an investment of Rs 7,410 crore to set up a third plant at Kharkhoda in Haryana, which will have a capacity of up to 2.5 lakh vehicles per year.

Production capacity will increase

The capacity of Maruti Suzuki’s new plant in Kharkhoda is expected to reach 7.5 lakh units per annum and the proposed capacity will be added by the year 2029. The company said that this investment will be financed through internal resources. The reason for setting up the third plant is the increase in market demand, which also includes exports. Maruti is the largest car selling company in the country, whose exports are also at the forefront.

Record was made last year

Maruti had made a production record in the year 2024, when it produced more than 20 lakh vehicles annually. Haryana-based units had a 60 percent share in the company’s total production, while 40 percent of the production was done in Gujarat-based units. The company’s Manesar plant also produced the 20 lakhth vehicle, which was an Ertiga car. Currently, the company has two plants in Haryana, Gurugram and Manesar. One unit is in Hansalpur, Gujarat and the total production capacity of all these plants is more than 23 lakh annually.
