At the same time, the Yogi government has also started a pension scheme for the elderly. Here we will learn about ‘Old Age Pension Scheme’, one of the most important schemes of the Yogi government.

Old Age Pension Scheme has been dedicated by the Government of Uttar Pradesh to ensure the safety, care and welfare of its aged population. Scheme Features

In this scheme, Rs 500 will be provided to senior citizens on a monthly or quarterly basis. Senior citizens below the poverty line can take advantage of this pension scheme. The pension amount will be directly transferred to the bank account of the beneficiary.

Eligibility Criteria

  •  Must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
  •  People who are 60 years or above can apply.
  •  Annual income should be up to Rs.46080 in rural areas.
  •  In urban areas the annual income should be up to Rs.56460.
  •  His name should be registered in the BPL list.

Required documents

  •  Passport size color photograph.
  •  ID Proof (Aadhar Card, Voter Card, Driving License etc.)
  •  Photocopy of Bank Passbook.
  • Copy of income certificate.
  •  Domicile certificate copy
  •  Copy of Birth Certificate.
  • How to apply for old age pension scheme-
  •  Go to the portal http://sspy-up.gov.in.
  •  Click on Old Pension.
  •  Select Apply Online and click on the New Entry Form link.
  •  Fill all the mandatory details.
  •  Upload all the documents.
  •  Click Save.
  •  Now, registration slip will be generated with registration number.
  •  Click on Final Submit.
  •  Finally take a print out of the last submitted page and attached documents for future reference.
