7th Pay Commission: Good News! Another gift after old pension, government increased DA in this state-Details Here

DA Hike Latest News: Himachal Pradesh Government (Himachal Pradesh Govt) has now implemented the increase in dearness allowance after restoring the old pension scheme in the state. Along with this, the salary of the state government employees is also going to increase. The benefit of increase in dearness allowance will also be given to the retired former employees of the state government.

More than 3 lakh people benefited

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu had recently announced to increase DA (Himachal Pradesh DA Hike). He had announced a 3 per cent increase in DA at a state-level function organized on the occasion of Himachal Day on April 15. Now the state government has issued a notification in this regard. This decision of the state government will benefit 2.15 lakh employees and 90,000 retired employees.

Payment will be made from the last date

Till now the employees and pensioners of Himachal Pradesh government were getting the benefit of dearness allowance at the rate of 31 per cent. Now the rate of dearness allowance has increased to 34 per cent. It has also been told in the notification that the benefit of the increased rate of dearness allowance will be given to eligible employees and pensioners from January 1, 2022. For this everyone will be paid arrears.

There will be so much burden on the treasury

The notification to implement the increased dearness allowance was issued by the Chief Secretary of the state government. The notification states that arrears from January 2022 to March 31, 2023 will be paid into the GPF account, while allowances after April 2023 will be paid in cash. On the other hand, the dearness allowance will be paid in cash to the retired personnel after January 1, 2022. The state government has told in the notification that this decision to increase the dearness allowance will put an additional burden of Rs 500 crore on the state exchequer.

Old pension has been implemented

The state government has also issued a notification earlier to implement the old pension scheme Himachal Pradesh. The Old Pension Scheme (OPS) has been restored from 1 April 2023. It was told in a PTI news that 1.36 lakh employees of the state government will benefit from this and now they will not be a part of the National Pension Scheme. The decision in this regard was taken in the first cabinet meeting on 13 January 2023. After that its notification was issued on 17 April 2023.
