7th Pay Commission: July 31 is a special day for central employees, know when the DA hike will be announced?

7th Pay Commission: July 31 is a very special day for more than one crore central employees and pensioners of the country. On this day, it will almost be decided that how much will be the increase in their dearness allowance and dearness relief.

Actually, the AICPI index number of DA Hike and DR Hike, which will increase from July 1, will come on July 31. After this, it will be decided how much it will increase.

On the basis of the figures so far of this half year, it is being estimated that this time also there may be an increase of 4 percent in the dearness allowance. At present, the numbers of AICPI index for June are yet to come. In the AICPI index released so far,

it stood at 132.8 in January, 132.7 in February, 133.3 in March, 134.2 in April and 134.2 in May. In such a situation, central employees and pensioners are hopeful that there may be a 4 per cent increase in dearness allowance this time too. However, it will be clear only after the official announcement from the government that how much the salary of the employees will increase.

In fact, on the basis of AICPI data released by the Ministry of Labour, the central government reviews and increases the dearness allowance of its employees and dearness relief of pensioners every 6 months

On the basis of this, the first hike takes place in the month of January and the second in the month of July. Normally, dearness allowance for January is announced around Holi and for July before Raksha Bandhan before Diwali.

Based on the figures of the last 5 months of the AICPI index, speculations are being made about a 4 percent increase in the dearness allowance this time too. If this happens, then the dearness allowance of the central employees will increase from the current 42 to 46 percent and a big increase can be seen in their salary.

This increase in dearness allowance and dearness relief will directly benefit about 47 lakh central employees and 68 lakh pensioners. Let us tell you that the Central Government had increased the dearness allowance by 4 percent just before Holi this year. After which it increased from 38 to 42 percent. In such a situation, if there is an increase of 4 percent in DA and DR this time too, then it will increase to 46 percent.
