Orange alert issued for heavy rain in many areas for two days
According to the Meteorological Department, an orange alert has been issued for heavy rain in many areas for the next two days. Apart from Uttarakhand, warnings of heavy rain have been issued in any other state. Heavy rains have been predicted for the next two days in Himachal, Bihar, West Bengal, while in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, heavy rains have been predicted till August 15. Monsoon activity will increase once again after 4 to 5 days. After this, heavy rains can also be seen in capital Delhi, Haryana, Punjab including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat.
Presently rain activity is going on in Goa Maharashtra. In Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, moderate rains have been predicted in some areas and heavy rains in some countries. A rain warning has been issued for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands except the Royal Border.
Heavy rain forecast in these areas
Heavy rain warning has been issued in Himachal Pradesh till August 14. The havoc of rain is going to continue in Uttarakhand till 17th August. On the other hand, heavy rains can be seen in Haryana and Punjab on August 13 and 14. The process of rain will continue in Uttar Pradesh till August 15. At the same time, a warning of torrential rain has been issued in Uttar Pradesh till August 17. Heavy rain warning has been issued till August 17 in the eastern part of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Tamil Nadu.
Monsoon effect in 19 states
The effect of monsoon is being seen in 19 states. Apart from Jharkhand, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Nagaland, heavy rain warnings have also been issued in West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal and Uttarakhand. Apart from this, a warning of lightning has also been issued in Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema, interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
Weather alert
- A cyclonic circulation is present over Northeast Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar.
- At a lower tropospheric level, the trough is passing through entire Bihar and up to the Bay of North West Bengal.
- Monsoon trough is lying north of its normal position and it is expected to remain in the foothills of the Himalayas for the next four to five days.
- The same Western Disturbance in the form of a line in the middle westerly winds is being seen in the mesotroposphere.
