IMD Alert : Heavy rain in 12 states for next 84 hours, red-orange alert issued, landslide-storm warning,

Heavy rain may occur over parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jharkhand, East Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Telangana. Fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms are possible over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, East Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana and Coastal Karnataka. Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Odisha, Widespread rain and thunderstorms are likely over Jharkhand, East Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh.

Heavy rain activities over Northeast India till August 21

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain activities will be seen in North East India till August 21. Light rains will be recorded in 12 states while heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand have created a situation of floods and landslides. Traffic service will be interrupted.

Landslide warning including heavy rain has been issued in more than 10 areas of Uttarakhand. Heavy rain has been forecast in these areas till August 20. The movement of clouds will continue. Lightning warnings have also been issued. The administration has been put on alert mode.

According to the Meteorological Department, on August 18, heavy rains will be seen in the remote areas of Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar, while moderate rains can also be recorded in parts of Uttarakhand, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Western Uttar Pradesh. In the country’s capital New Delhi, the minimum temperature will be recorded 28 and the maximum temperature will be 37 degree Celsius. At present, there is no respite from the heat. Light drizzle can be recorded in some areas. Light rain warning has been issued in the capital Delhi on Saturday and Sunday.

  • Light rain may occur at one or two places over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Haryana and East Rajasthan from Central Maharashtra, South Gujarat and Kerala including Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
  • A warning of heavy rain has been issued in some areas of Uttar Pradesh while humidity and discomfort will increase in some areas. Along with this, the maximum temperature has been predicted to be 36 degree Celsius.

  • On August 22 in Northwest India , there will be scattered rains in Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh including Western Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, warning of heavy rain has been issued at other places including storm lightning. On August 22, a forecast of extremely heavy rain has been expressed in Uttarakhand.

Heavy rain with thunder and lightning in East India till August 23

If we talk about East India , light rain can be seen from August 18 to 20, Odisha from August 18 to 22, Jharkhand and from August 18 to 23, West Bengal and Sikkim. Heavy rain was predicted at some places. Odisha will see heavy rains on August 19.
