On August 19, the ED sent a second summon to Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The ED had sent summons to the Chief Minister asking him to be present at the ED’s Ranchi Zonal Office on August 24.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for the third time. He will now be questioned on September 9 in the land scam case in Ranchi. However, its official confirmation from ED is yet to be done. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has pointed this out by tweeting. It may be known that despite the summons of ED, Chief Minister Hemant Soren did not reach ED’s regional office Ranchi on Thursday.
Official sources said today that the Chief Minister informed the ED through a letter that he has gone to the Supreme Court regarding the matter. However, no evidence has been given by the Chief Minister to ED in this regard.
Earlier today, an employee with a letter from the Chief Minister’s Secretariat reached the regional office of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Airport Road on Thursday. Chief Minister’s Secretariat employee Suraj had refused to tell anything to the media about what was written in this letter. Also said that he has no information about this.
It is noteworthy that ED had sent a second summons to Chief Minister Hemant Soren on August 19. The ED had sent summons to the Chief Minister asking him to be present at the ED’s Ranchi Zonal Office on August 24. Earlier, ED had sent summons to the Chief Minister on August 8 and asked him to appear on August 14.
But the Chief Minister did not appear before the ED. He had written a letter to ED saying that they should withdraw the summons, I am taking legal advice. Will deal with ED as per legal process. The Chief Minister had written that your summons in this matter is illegal. They will proceed only after taking legal advice.
