The Jharkhand High Court on Tuesday stayed the advertisement issued for the appointment of Assistant Professor. The court of Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice Anand Sen issued notices to JSSC, Jharkhand Education Project and the state government, banning the advertisement (13/2023) and directed them to file their reply within four weeks.

During the hearing, the court was told on behalf of the applicants that in the rules made in the year 2023 for the appointment of Assistant Professors, BRPs and CRPs working on contract have been deprived of reservation.
Whereas in the rules made in the year 2022, 50 percent reservation was also given to the employees working in the education department. Later the government made revised rules and abolished the reservation of education workers.
Urge to give reservation to education workers in the appointment of Assistant Professor
It was said on behalf of the applicant that in the rules made in 2023, a provision of 50 per cent reservation has been made only for mercury teachers in the appointment of assistant teachers. Shikshakarmis should also be given 50 percent reservation like mercury teachers. After the hearing, the court issued notices to all the respondents staying the advertisement for appointment and fixed the hearing after four weeks.
Applications for appointment were sought till 15
The application process for the 26,001 Assistant Professor posts in Jharkhand has started from August 16 itself. The online application for this was to be filled by 15 September. As per the notification of JSSC, the examination fee was to be deposited till the midnight of 17th September.
Photograph and signature have been asked to be uploaded by the midnight of 19th September. The process of amendment in the application form will be from September 21 to September 23 midnight. Now after the ban, we will have to wait for the order of the court.
26001 teachers to be reinstated simultaneously
For the first time in the state, the recruitment process of 26,001 assistant professors was started simultaneously. According to the advertisement issued for this, 12,868 posts were reserved for para teachers and 13,133 posts for non-para teachers.
In the recruitment of inter-trained assistant teachers for classes I to V, 5469 posts were reserved for para teachers, while in the appointment of assistant teachers for classes VI to VIII, 7399 posts were reserved for para teachers.
