DA Hike in UP and West Bengal: Yogi Adityanath government has approved 10% dearness allowance for regular roadways employees, which will now increase to 38 percent. About 12 thousand employees will benefit from this step.

After several protests and memorandums of Uttar Pradesh Roadways Employees Union, the increase was agreed upon. Transport Corporation’s PRO Ajit Singh has confirmed the 10 percent DA increase. The 10% increase will impose an additional expenditure burden of Rs 7.5-8 crore on the state. Employees who can avail DA include salary ranging from Rs 3,000 to Rs 15,000 depending on the basic pay scale.

West Bengal is the second state to increase DA for its employees. The state government has announced a 4% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees.

With this, the previous DA rate of 10% has now been increased to 14%, which will provide a financial boost to the government workforce. This will be effective from May 2024. This announcement was made during the state budget session of West Bengal.
