Air India Notice : Air India pilot takes female friend to cockpit, CEO gets 'show cause' notice

DGCA Show Cause Notice: In this case related to Tata Group’s airline Air India, a pilot had called his female friend to the cockpit. It is considered to be playing with the safety of the passengers.

Air India, the airline company of Tata Group, is facing a lot due to the mistake of one of its pilots. In a related case, a pilot had called his female friend to the cockpit, regarding which the aviation regulator DGCA has taken a tough stand.

The regulator has now issued show cause notices to some other officials including the CEO of the company (Air India CEO) regarding this matter.

February is the case

This matter is of 27 February. In the said case, during the Dubai-Delhi flight, the pilot had called one of his female friends in the cockpit of the aircraft. The complaint was made by a member of the crew itself. Only the crew members of that aircraft have entry in the cockpit of the aircraft.

Other people cannot enter the cockpit. This rule has been made keeping in mind the safety of the passengers and the aircraft. This is the reason that aviation regulator DGCA is angry with the violation of this rule.

Notice to these two officers

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation ie DGCA says that there is such a serious matter of violation of important rules related to the safety of passengers, and the company could not inform it on time. According to a PTI news, for this reason DGCA has sent a show cause notice to Air India CEO Campbell Wilson. Apart from the CEO, a show-cause notice has also been sent to Henry Donohoe, head of Air India’s safety, security and quality operations.

DGCA made this allegation

In a related case, a member of the crew of the aircraft had given a complaint to the DGCA that the pilot had allowed his female friend to enter the cockpit during the flight. After receiving the complaint, DGCA has taken action on its behalf in this matter. The regulator says that the notice has already been sent to the officials of the company. The company has also delayed the investigation in this matter.

Reply to be given in 15 days

According to PTI, a DGCA official said on Sunday that the CEO of Air India and the head of flight safety were issued show cause notices on April 21 itself for not reporting the incident in time. There has also been a delay in the investigation of the case by the company. Both the officers have been given 15 days to respond to the notice.
