Public sector Punjab and Sind Bank plans to double the number of its ATM network to around 1,600 in the next two years to increase its reach. Swaroop Kumar Saha, Managing Director of Punjab and Sind Bank gave this information. Along with this, he said that the bank also intends to open 50 new branches in the current financial year, which will increase its total network to more than 1,600.

He said that the opening of new branches will increase the amount of low-cost deposits and help in entering the field of loan products. Saha said, “We are trying to increase operational efficiency so that we can reduce our costs and increase our fee income. We are moving towards a very wide range of areas such as increasing the ATM network, improving the digital banking experience.

He said that the ATM network can be a profit center in itself as customers of other banks pay around Rs 17 per transaction for using the ATM machine. He said that the bank is in the process of upgrading its ‘Core Banking Solution’ (CBS), which will help in improving the digital journey and also bring in efficiency. At the same time, the share price of the bank was closed on August 14, 2023 at the rate of 33.70 on NSE.
