Bagmati Express Accident: Routes of many trains changed after Bagmati Express accident, read the full list here

Train Accident  Due to signal failure, the high-speed Mysore Darbhanga Express train collided with a stationary freight train at Kavaraipettai near Gummidipundi in the Chennai division of Southern Railway. After which at least 12 coaches of the train derailed. Fortunately, no one died in this accident. The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Kavarapettai Train Accident:  Due to the accident of 12578 Mysore-Darbhanga Bagmati Express near Kavarapettai station in Chennai, the routes of many trains including Dhanbad-Alleppey, Alleppey-Dhanbad Express and Coimbatore-Dhanbad Special train that left on Friday have been diverted.

Trains running on diverted routes

  • Train No. 13351 Dhanbad – Alleppey Express will run via Renigunta, Melpakkam and Katpadi.
  • Train No. 13352 Alleppey – Dhanbad Express will run via Melpakkam, Arakkonam and Renigunta.
  • Train No. 06063 Coimbatore-Dhanbad Special train will run via Melpakkam, Arakkonam and Renigunta.
  • Train No. 18190 Ernakulam – Tatanagar Express is diverted via Melapalayam – Arakkonam – Renigunta
  • Train No. 12621 Dr. MGR Chennai Central – Tamil Nadu Express is diverted from Arakkonam – Renigunta via Vijayawada.
  • Train No. 12664 Tiruchirapalli – Howrah Superfast Express is diverted to run via Melpalayam – Arakkonam – Renigunta.
  • Train No. 07696 Ramanathapuram – Secunderabad Express Special train has been diverted via Arakkonam – Renigunta.
  • Gandhidham and Jammutavi Express will run on a changed route from 15th to 22nd October.

The work of third line and automatic signal will be done between Kusmhi and Gorakhpur Cantt stations of North Eastern Railway. Due to this, non-interlocking work will be done. Due to this, the route of two trains of Bhagalpur railway section, Gandhidham and Jammutavi Express, has been diverted. Both trains will run on a changed route from 15th October to 22nd.

09452 Bhagalpur-Gandhidham Special train will run via Gorakhpur, Barhni, Gonda. While 15098 Jammutavi-Bhagalpur Amarnath Express will also run via Barabanki, Ayodhya Cantt, Shahganj, Jaunpur, Varanasi from 15th October to 22nd. This information has been given by CPRO of Eastern Railway, Deeptimoy Dutta.

Due to interlocking work, the route of many trains including Purva has been changed. Pre-non interlocking/non interlocking work is to be done at Prayagraj station of North Central Railway for yard re-modeling work and electronic interlocking work. Due to this, the route of many trains will be changed from October 8 to November 4.

During this period, 12381 Howrah-New Delhi Poorva Express on 20th October and 12382 New Delhi-Howrah Poorva Express on 18th October will be run via Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay-Mirzapur-Prayagraj Junction instead of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay-Varanasi-Prayag-Prayagraj Junction.

At the same time, 12307 Howrah-Jodhpur Express on 19th and 20th October and 12308 Jodhpur-Howrah Express on 17th and 18th October will be run via Agra Cantt-Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi Junction-Manikpur-Prayagraj Chheoki-Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay instead of Agra Fort-Tundla-Prayagraj-Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay. Trains will stop for five minutes at Prayagraj Chheoki and Agra Cantt stations. 22307 Howrah-Bikaner Express will run on 17th and 18th October and 22308 Bikaner-Howrah Express will run on 19th and 20th October via Agra Cantt-Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi Junction-Manikpur-Prayagraj Chheoki-Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya route instead of Agra Fort-Tundla-Prayagraj-Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya. The said trains will halt at Prayagraj Chheoki and Agra Cantt stations for five minutes.

At the same time, 12987 Sealdah-Ajmer Express will run from 17th to 20th October and 12988 Ajmer-Sealdah Express will run from 17th to 20th October via Agra Cantt-Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi Junction-Manikpur-Prayagraj Chheoki-Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya route instead of Agra Fort-Tundla-Prayagraj-Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya route and the said trains will halt at Prayagraj Chheoki and Agra Cantt stations for five minutes.
