Actually, this month there are holidays on festivals, as well as many days on which there will be holidays in banks.
Talking about Delhi, there will be a holiday on September 8, 9 and 10 along with schools and some banks. In this sense, the people of Delhi have to be more alert. Holidays have been announced by the Reserve Bank of India in the month of September.
According to this, there will be a total of 16 days of bank holidays in the 30-day month of September. In such a situation, consumers will have to handle their financial matters keeping these holidays in mind. These holidays are also according to the local festivals.
Banks will remain closed for three consecutive days
Due to the festive season, there are a lot of banks holidays throughout the month of September. There are many festivals and important days during these 30 days, on which there will be holidays in banks. On the other hand, there will be a holiday in banks for 3 consecutive days on 18, 19 and 20 September.
Not only this, banks will also remain closed for 3 days on 27, 28 and 29 September. In such a situation, people will have to make their plans keeping these in mind. Overall, there will be bank holidays in the second fortnight of September i.e. 6 days out of 15 days.
In the month of September, banks will remain closed on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Nuakhai Shri Narayan Guru Samadhi Day, Maharaja Hari Singh Ji’s birthday, Shrimant Sankardev’s birth anniversary, Milad-e-Sharif (Prophet Mohammed’s birthday), Indrajatra. According to RBI, there may be changes in state-wise holidays.
On September 03, there will be a holiday in banks across the country including Delhi-NCR due to Sunday.
Shri Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated as the main festival of Hindus on 06 September , due to which there will be holiday in banks in Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh as well as in Bihar.
On September 7 , Shri Krishna Ashtami will be celebrated in some states, including Delhi-NCR. Apart from this, banks will remain closed in Himachal Pradesh, Srinagar, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Rajasthan, Jammu, Bihar and Chhattisgarh besides Jharkhand.
The G-20 summit is being organized in Delhi on 8 September . This day is very important, so there will be a holiday in banks in some areas of Delhi.
Due to Sunday on 10 September, banks will remain closed across the country.
There will be a holiday in banks on 17th September also as it is a Sunday.
Vinayaka Chaturthi is on September 18 , in such a situation, apart from Karnataka, bank holidays have already been announced in Telangana as well.
Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on 19 September in many places including North India. Due to this, apart from Tamil Nadu and Goa, banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Orissa.
Ganesh Chaturthi will be the second day of the festival on September 20 and under this, bank holidays have been declared in Odisha and Goa due to Nuakhai.

On September 22, on Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi Day, bank closure has been announced in the important state of South India, Kerala.
September 23 is the fourth Saturday. Due to the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh, there will be a holiday in banks in Jammu and Srinagar.
Due to Sunday on 24 September , banks will remain closed across the country.
Banks will remain closed in Assam on September 25 , as the birth anniversary of Srimanta Sankardev is to be celebrated. Milad-e-Sharif i.e. the birthday of Prophet Mohammad is celebrated on
27th September . On this date, holiday has been declared in banks in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and Kerala.
On September 28 , Eid-e-Milad or Eid-e-Miladunnabi will be a holiday in Mizoram, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Jharkhand, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh.
Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabi is followed by Indrajatra on September 29 , so apart from Jammu and Kashmir, banks will remain closed in Sikkim as well.
