Bank news The budget for the year 2025-26 is yet to be presented. Various sections are expected to get gifts from this budget. The demands of bank employees are going to be fulfilled in this budget. Especially a big announcement will be made in this budget regarding 5 day week (5 day week in banks). Along with this, there is going to be a change in the timing of banks as well. Let us know about this special update in this news
Agreement has been made on this demand –
Till now, bank employees in the country get holidays on some special days. Usually, there is no work in banks on Sundays and second-fourth Saturdays. Bank employees demand that they should work only 5 days a week (Budget 5 Days Working in Bank), that is, work should be done from Monday to Friday and Saturday-Sunday should be holidays. For this, an agreement has been reached between the bank employee union and the Indian banks’ organization like Indian Banks Association (IBA). No official decision has been taken by the government and the Reserve Bank on this proposal yet.
This could be the timing of banks –
If the government approves the 5 day week rule in banks, then the working hours of banks will increase slightly, it can increase by about 40 to 45 minutes. After this change, banks will open a little early in the morning and employees will work for a little longer in the evening. Right now the timing of banks is from 10 am to 4 pm, but under the new rule, banks will open from 9:45 am to 5:30 pm (bank timing rules). Bank employees say that this will not have any adverse effect on the services of the customers and their work will also increase a little more.
When will the rule be implemented –
In March 2024, an agreement has been reached between bank unions and IBA, in which it was proposed to work 5 days a week (5 day working rule). However, for this change to come into effect, it will be necessary to get the approval of the Ministry of Finance and the Reserve Bank of India. Bank employees are hoping that the government will approve this new working time (banks new timing case) in its upcoming budget. The purpose of this proposal is to ensure better work-enhancement for bank employees.
When will the budget for 2025-26 be presented –
As you all know, the budget for 2025-26 will be presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on 1st February (budget launching date). It is being told that this budget will be the first full budget of the third term of the Modi government. Other people of the society also have many expectations from this budget.
