He also served the country as Home Minister and Information Broadcasting Minister. His parliamentary contribution will always be remembered. After this, he was Lok Sabha MP from Gandhinagar seat of Gujarat in 1991, 1998, 1999, 2004 and 2009, 2014. From 2002 to 2005, he held the responsibility of Deputy Prime Minister in Atal’s government.
