DA Hike: The decision to increase Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief will be considered effective from April 1, 2024. Along with this, the state government has also announced to expand the scope of Yogya Shree Yojana.
DA Hike: The West Bengal government has given the gift of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief to the state employees and pensioners after the elections. The state government has issued a notification on Tuesday and implemented a 4 percent increase in DA. The state government has said that this decision will be considered effective from April 1, 2024. The State Finance Department issued a notification informing that earlier this decision was to be implemented from May 1. Now the increased DA will be given to the employees and pensioners along with the salary of July.
Know how much the salary will increase
Suppose the current salary of an employee is around Rs 35,000. In which he was getting 10 percent dearness allowance which amounts to Rs 3500. But after the state government made the inflation rate 14 percent, he will get a total salary of Rs 35910 which includes Rs 4410 dearness allowance. If an employee gets a salary of Rs 1 lakh every month. So, currently he was getting Rs 10,000 as 10 percent dearness allowance. But after the dearness allowance becomes 14 percent, he will get Rs 12,600 as dearness allowance i.e. Rs 2600 more every month. Now the total salary will increase from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 102600 every month.
14 lakh state employees will benefit
This decision of the West Bengal government will benefit about 14 lakh employees of the state, employees of all schools, colleges and universities, employees of public sector companies and pensioners. In the year 2024, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has increased the DA twice. Earlier the state government had increased the DA in January. After this, an increase in DA was announced during the budget in February. With this, the state employees will now start getting 14 percent DA.
