Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojana (DDJAY) was launched by Prime Minister Narendra in 2016 in Haryana. The objective of this scheme was to provide housing facilities at low cost to the lower and middle income families.
Haryana Government has discontinued the Affordable Plotted Housing Scheme Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojana ( DDJAY ). This scheme has been discontinued in Faridabad and Gurugram districts. The reason for this is that the prices of plots have become very high in both the districts.
The home buyers of lower and middle income group were not getting the benefit of this scheme. According to officials, the Town and Country Planning ( TCP ) issued a notice on April 20. In this , it has been told about the closure of DDJAY in the Final Development Plan 2031 of Gurugram Manesar Urban Complex and Faridabad.
Reason for canceling the plan
The officials gave reasons for the closure of the scheme. He said that due to the high cost of land, independent floors are being sold at very high prices. Due to this, this affordable housing scheme has become unaffordable for the lower and middle class buyers of Faridabad and Gurugram.
This scheme was started by Prime Minister Narendra in 2016 in Haryana. The objective of this scheme was to provide affordable housing facilities to the lower and middle income families. Along with this, it was also aimed that this scheme would stop the development in unauthorized colonies in the state.
The purpose of this plan
Registration of independent floors was allowed under this scheme. Stilt parking was also allowed in this. In this Affordable Housing Policy, the minimum and maximum planned area was kept at 5 acres and 15 acres respectively. Officials said that initially this policy was only for such cities in which lower and medium income families live. But, later districts like Gurugram and Faridabad were also included in this scheme.
Governor approves the proposal to close the scheme
The prices of independent floors under this scheme have also increased a lot due to the huge increase in land prices in both the districts. Due to this the objective of this scheme was not being fulfilled. Because of this, in February this year, it was decided to ban this scheme in Gurugram and Faridabad. The Council of Ministers approved this proposal to amend the scheme. The Governor of Haryana gave its approval on 5th April as well.
