Delhi Metro: Delhi Metro has given a big facility, now cards and tickets can be taken from UPI at all stations

Delhi Metro: Big news has come for lakhs of people traveling in Delhi Metro, which will make their journey easier. Delhi Metro has provided ticket vending machines and UPI payment facility at counters at all its stations. According to DMRC’s statement, passengers will now be able to recharge their smart cards or buy QR tickets for Metro through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) app on their smartphones.

The service was started in the year 2018 which got expanded

In the year 2018, DMRC started this UPI service on select ticket vending machines in Noida and Ghaziabad segments, which has now been provided at all metro stations. Just as people make payments through UPI app at malls and shops in their daily life, in the same way, they are now being given the facility to pay through UPI for smart card recharge or tokens of Delhi Metro. Passengers can now scan QR codes through their mobile applications to purchase metro cards or tickets.

What did Delhi Metro Rail Corporation say

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said in its statement that through this initiative, ticketing service and commuters’ journey is being made digital and hassle-free. This step has been taken with the aim of making things easier for the passengers and UPI is such a tool that common people are also using fiercely.

Will be able to scan on ticket vending machine

The facility to scan this QR code has been given at all ticket vending machines in Delhi Metro stations. Earlier, tickets or smart cards could be recharged only through cash, debit or credit cards, but now through UPI all these works will be done easily and quickly.
