Delhi Power Subsidy Apply: To take advantage of free electricity in Delhi, the Power Minister recently announced that people will have to apply by March 31, 2024, to take advantage of the subsidy. Since then, more than 84 percent of Delhi domestic consumers have opted for electricity subsidy since the first week of April. According to the PTI report, there are a total of 58.71 lakh eligible consumers getting free electricity in Delhi.
Consumers can opt for subsidy under the new subsidy scheme of the Delhi government, which is effective from 1 October 2022. CM Arvind Kejriwal had said that subsidy will be given only to those who want to get it or opt for it. Under this new scheme, the Delhi government will be given 200 units of free electricity every month. At the same time, 50 percent subsidy will be given to those who use 400 units of electricity.
Who applied the most
According to a government document, out of 58.71 lakh domestic consumers, 49.39 lakh people have applied for electricity subsidy till April 6. In this, maximum 93 percent or 24.64 lakh BSES Rajdhani Power Limited and more than 79 percent or 16.68 lakh Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited are consumers. The lowest has been done by the New Delhi Municipal Corporation, for which 16,000 users have applied.

How to apply for electricity subsidy
Residents of Delhi can apply through both online and offline mode. At the same time, it can also be applied through missed call. For this you can give missed call 7011311111 from the registered number. At the same time, you can apply by visiting the official website of Delhi Government.
- Send message ‘Hi’ on WhatsApp to 7011311111
- Now select the language and now enter the 11 digit CA number.
- The pre-filled subsidy form will open in front of you.
- Now click on ‘YES’ to confirm which will ask you to choose the subsidy option
To apply offline, you have to visit the nearest Billing Center or Customer Care Center. Here you can submit the form with complete information. After this you will also start getting electricity subsidy.
