The ED team has reached the Ministry of Jharkhand to take further action in the investigation. The investigating agency raided the premises of Jharkhand Rural Development Department in Ranchi on Wednesday as part of money laundering probe. The ED officials arrived with minister Alamgir Alam’s personal secretary Sanjeev Lal.
Till the time of writing the news, documents were being scrutinized in Sanjeev Lal’s office. ED officials are examining each and every document. It is being told that cash has been recovered from Rural Development Minister’s OSD Sanjeev Lal from his drawer in the ministry.

After finding such a large amount of cash, bank employees were called with note counting machines to count the notes. A total of 6 places were raided in this case. A total of cash worth Rs 35.23 crore has been recovered.

It is noteworthy that ED had raided the house of Chief Engineer last year in connection with a bribe of Rs 10,000. During this time his statement was recorded. He told that the bribe money is delivered to the minister. After that, the name of Jharkhand Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam came up for the first time. It was during this investigation that the name of Alamgir’s personal secretary Sanjeev Lal came to light and now this cash was recovered from the servant working in Sanjeev Lal’s house.
Who is Alamgir Alam?
Alamgir Alam has been a four-time Congress MLA from Pakur Assembly and is currently the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Rural Development in the state government. Before this, Alamgir Alam was also the Speaker of Jharkhand Assembly from 20 October 2006 to 12 December 2009. After inheriting politics, Alamgir entered politics by winning the election of Sarpanch. He became MLA for the first time in 2000 and since then has been elected MLA 4 times.
