Jharkhand: In the liquor and land scam in Jharkhand, the ED raided 32 locations in five cities including the private residence of State Finance Minister Dr. Rameshwar Oraon in Ranchi on the morning of 23 August. Due to this action of ED, the political temperature of the state has suddenly increased. The Congress has strongly attacked the BJP government regarding the action taken at the Finance Minister’s son’s house.
‘ED should tell in which case they are conducting raids’
Jharkhand’s Congress President Rajesh Thakur while targeting the BJP government said, ‘ED should first tell where the raids are being conducted. They should clarify in which case they are conducting raids. Is liquor sold only in non-BJP ruled states? Is liquor sold only in Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Delhi?’

What is the whole matter?
Once again in Jharkhand, the ED has started its investigation in the money laundering case related to the alleged liquor scam in the state. Since this morning, ED has raided about 32 locations across the state including Ranchi, Dumka, Deoghar, Godda. Meanwhile, raids have also been conducted at Jharkhand’s Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon’s son’s place. Let us tell you that the Enforcement Directorate has raided the residence of Rohit Oraon, son of Jharkhand minister Rameshwar Oraon, in connection with the liquor scam.
According to sources, raids are going on at many places including Ranchi, Dumka and Deoghar. Rameshwar Oraon has been a former IPS officer and is currently a minister in the Hemant Soren government of Jharkhand. Police force is stationed outside his residence since this morning. The houses of Vinay Singh, owner of a vehicle agency in Ranchi, land trader Abhishek Jha and Congress leader Munnam Sanjay have also been raided. More than 100 officers are engaged in the raid.
