Talked about giving easy loans to farmers
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman appealed to public sector banks to give easy loans to Kisan Credit Card (KCC) holders to increase the income of farmers living in villages. The Finance Minister also had a long discussion with the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of Public Sector Banks in this regard. During this, he asked the regional banks to develop the technology of the bank to help the villagers.
Kisan Credit Card Scheme reviewed
Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Purushottam Rupala said that the Finance Minister reviewed the Kisan Credit Card Scheme (KCC Yojana). He considered this and also suggested how institutional loans can be made available to the farmers. Minister of State for Finance Bhagwat K Karad said, “The meeting was presided over by the Finance Minister and issue of KCC to people engaged in fishing and dairy sector was discussed.
During this, emphasis was also laid on the important role of regional rural banks in agriculture loans. Apart from this, in another session, it was decided on Regional Rural Banks that sponsor banks should help in digitization and technology improvement.
