Actually, before the next year’s Lok Sabha elections, this plan is being done to please the government employees. Although it is also discussed that the 8th Pay Commission will not come.

Calculation will be done on the basis of last pay commission

During the 8th Pay Commission, there will be the biggest increase in the salary of the employees. It is possible to discuss the constitution of the Pay Commission after the Lok Sabha elections. Sources say that talks are progressing on this. The 8th Pay Commission was also mentioned by Union Minister of State for Finance Bhagwat Karad in the Parliament. After the formation of the Eighth Pay Commission, there will be a tremendous increase in the salary of the central employees. It will be calculated in comparison to the previous pay commission.

When will the new pay commission be implemented?

The 8th Pay Commission is expected to be constituted by the end of the year 2024. After this it can be implemented within one to two years. That is, it can come into effect by the end of 2025 or early 2026. There are some changes in the 8th Pay Commission as compared to the 7th Pay Commission. There will be no increase in salary on the basis of fitment factor. Rather, the salary will be increased through some other formula.

When did the salary increase by how much?

  • There was an increase of 27.6% in the salary of central employees in the fourth pay commission. In this, the minimum wage was fixed at Rs 750.
  •  There was a big jump of 31 percent in the salary of the employees in the fifth pay commission. Due to this, his minimum wage increased to Rs.2550 per month.
  • In the Sixth Pay Commission, the fitment factor was kept at 1.86 times. Due to this, the minimum salary of the employees increased by 54 percent and the basic salary increased to Rs.7000.
  • In the Seventh Pay Commission, considering the fitment factor as the basis, there was an increase of 2.57 times. The minimum basic salary has increased to Rs 18,000. The employees are now demanding to increase the fitment factor. But it remains at 2.57 times.

How much will the minimum salary increase?

The fitment factor can be kept as the basis in the 8th Pay Commission. On this basis, the fitment factor of the employees can be increased to 3.68 times. In such a situation, there can be an increase of 44.44% in the minimum salary of the employees. The minimum salary of the employees can be Rs 26,000 or more.
