Jharkhand Foreign Lady Gangrape: On March 1, a disgusting incident took place in Kunji village of Hansdiha in Dumka district of Jharkhand. Eight people had committed gangrape with a Spanish woman.
Ranchi. Jharkhand High Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the gang rape case of Spanish woman in Dumka. Hearing in this case took place on Thursday. During the hearing in the suo motu case, the court made oral remarks and sought answers from the state government on several points. The court asked whether the state government has any SOP in such cases? If any foreigner enters the state, has any SOP been prepared by the state government yet regarding his investigation and security?
The court has asked for a complete detailed report in this case especially in view of criminal violence against women. The hearing of this case will now take place on March 13. Actually, information has been sought in the court that when a foreigner enters the state, what kind of SOP has been made to collect information from him. According to the information received, this Spanish woman had to go to Nepal by bike, so she had stayed for some time in Hansdiha of Dumka for night rest, during which this incident of gang rape took place.
According to the information, no information was given by the Spanish woman to the local administration regarding her entry into Dumka, hence, taking similar cases seriously, the court has sought information related to SOP. The court has asked the state government whether there is SOP for these cases in the state or what is the plan for the future.
