Another shock for Mumbaikars! Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has increased the prices of CNG and PNG. The price of CNG has increased by ₹ 1.50. The price of CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) has been increased by ₹ 1.50 per kg.
Now the new price of CNG in Mumbai has become ₹ 79.50 per kg. Earlier in December 2024 also, MGL had increased the price of CNG by ₹ 1 per kg. At the same time, in November 2024 also the prices were increased by ₹ 2 per kg.
PNG price increased by ₹1-The price of PNG (Piped Natural Gas) has also been increased by ₹1 per unit. Now the new price of PNG has become ₹49 per unit.
What will be the impact on the general public? The increase in the price of CNG can increase the cost of auto-rickshaws, taxis, and public transport. Its effect can also be seen on the fare. Due to the increase in the price of PNG, the monthly bill of gas used in homes (such as for cooking) can increase. There is also a possibility of increase in gas expenses in the corporate and industrial sectors.
Why are prices increasing? According to experts, factors like fluctuations in gas prices in the international market, weakness of the rupee, and increasing import costs can be behind this.
