Indian Railways: Indian Railways is trying its best to provide better facilities to the passengers. Railways is planning a big plan to control the passengers traveling with waiting tickets in the railways. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave many important information while answering questions related to railways in Parliament.
The Railway Minister said that keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers in the trains, tickets will be given according to the seats. Ashwini Vaishnav said that the railways is trying to give as many tickets as there are seats available in the trains. So that the passengers with confirmed seats in the train do not face inconvenience due to the passengers with waiting tickets.

He said that today, there are 56 thousand general and sleeper coaches in the Indian Railways fleet, while the number of AC coaches is 23 thousand.
The Railway Minister said that historic work has been done in the Kolkata Metro Rail Project. It was started in 1972 and till 2014, i.e. in 42 years, a total of 28 km of work has been done. Whereas, since the Modi government came to power at the Centre in 2014, 38 km of work has been done in the Kolkata Metro in 10 years.
Railways’ special focus on safety: Ashwini Vaishnav told the Lok Sabha that a lot of focus is being placed on railway safety. Many technical changes have been made. Indian Railways is continuously improving by taking many major steps like long rails, electronic interlocking, fog safety devices etc. He said that India has become a big exporter of railways.
Apart from exporting metro coaches to Australia, our country is exporting railway coaches to the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and France and operational equipment to Mexico, Spain, Germany, Italy. He said that soon locomotives made in Bihar and wheels made in Tamil Nadu will run all over the world.
