Senior citizens who want to do respectable work –

According to the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, this entire scheme has been prepared keeping in view the increasing number of elderly people in the country. During this, maximum focus has been given to those people, who want to do some respectable work even after retirement or crossing this age.
Online employment portal started –
This is the reason why the government has started an online employment portal to provide employment to them. Starting with this, more than two thousand industries have registered to provide respectable work to the elderly. During this, more than two hundred jobs have also been removed from these industries.

The Ministry believes that it is just the beginning, soon more industries will take initiative in this direction. Industries anyway give priority to experienced people in jobs. Instructions to private companies-
Significantly, the government had recently announced to open an online employment portal in the country to provide jobs to the elderly. Along with this, institutions like CII, FICCI and private companies were also asked to create some such jobs which are suitable for the elderly.
Steps taken by the government-
At present, the total population of the elderly (above sixty years) in the country is about 14 crores. Which is about ten percent of the total population of the country. According to an estimate, by the year 2050, the total population of the elderly in the country will exceed 300 million. Keeping in view the increasing number of elderly people, the government is engaged in arranging facilities related to them.
