Jharkhand’s Food Minister Dr. Rameshwar Oraon told News 18 Local that e-posh machines will be connected to 4G network in PDS shops across the state. We were continuously receiving complaints that it takes a long time to get ration. This hinders other works. Therefore, considering the complaints of the beneficiaries, the work of connecting all the posh machines to the 4G network will start only now.
Ranchi. You must have often seen long queues in Public Distribution System ie PDS shops. It is possible that you too must have spent many hours outside the shop to get ration. The reason for this is that the posh machine works with 2G network, which is quite slow. Because of this, the work of giving ration to the people is very slow. But to deal with this difficulty, the Jharkhand government has now started the work of shifting its machine to 4G network.
However, it will take some more time as tender has been floated for agency selection. Testing is underway to connect these machines to the 4G network.
The matter of trouble has also arisen in the assembly
Dr. Rameshwar Oraon told that this matter has also been raised in the budget session of the Vidhan Sabha regarding running of e-posh machines in 2G mode in PDS shops of the state and the difficulties caused by it. It is seen that due to the e-posh machines being in 2G mode in the PDS shops, the beneficiaries were facing difficulties in getting the fertilizers from the ration shops, especially in the rural areas.
Why 4G when 5G is available?
5G network has started in almost the entire country including Jharkhand. In such a situation, even though a plan is being made by the department regarding 4G posh machines and the work of the department should also be done on this network. But, still the question arises that when 5G network has started working everywhere then why the department will work on 4G network only.
On this question, Fertilizer Supply Department official Sanjay Singh said that there is a huge difference in the price of posh machines with 4G mode and posh machines of 5G network. Looking at the budget, at present work has to be done with 4G only. Since 4G also gives excellent speed, people will have a lot of convenience in giving ration even through 4G posh machines. Also, time will also be saved.
Pilot project going on in Ramgarh and Chaibasa
He told that in the initial phase, posh machines have been installed in 4G mode in 50 and seven shops under the pilot project in two districts of the state, Chaibasa and Ramgarh. Based on this the network is being tested. If the test is successful, it will be implemented in a phased manner in all the districts of the state. At present we are preparing for it.
The official of the Fertilizer Supply Department said that 4G machines have been installed for testing in most of the shops which were running in offline mode. Let us tell you that for the last three years, e-posh machines are being run on 2G network in 95 percent PDS shops of Jharkhand.
