Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has made a big move to woo women voters before the assembly elections. CM Soren has announced during a program that he will give a total financial aid of Rs 1 lakh in the accounts of women for the next five years. Assembly elections are to be held in Jharkhand in the coming few months, due to which the political temperature of the state is high. Meanwhile, to woo women voters, Chief Minister and JMM chief Shibu Soren’s son Hemant Soren has made a big announcement.
According to the news agency, Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday promised to transfer Rs 1 lakh to the accounts of women beneficiaries in the next five years under the financial assistance scheme for women. Soren made this announcement during a program in Palamu. He also transferred the first installment of Rs 1,000 to the accounts of 5.91 lakh women beneficiaries of ‘Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiyyan Samman Yojana’ (JMMSY).
“We have started giving Rs 1,000 under the scheme and it will continue, I promise to transfer Rs 1 lakh (to beneficiaries’ accounts) within the next five years,” he said during the programme. “Unless villages are empowered and women are made self-reliant, a developed Jharkhand cannot be imagined,” the chief minister said.
He said that his government has taken concrete steps towards strengthening the ‘Sakhi Mandals’ of Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS). Soren said, ‘More than Rs 10,000 crore has been distributed among Sakhi Mandals so that lakhs of women associated with them become self-reliant and set an example for the society.’
During this, CM Soren also accused the BJP of conspiring to destabilize the Jharkhand government. He said, ‘The opposition even sent me behind bars, they (BJP) create obstacles in our every work, the people of Jharkhand will give them a befitting reply in the upcoming assembly elections.’
