Earlier, the accused lodged in jail were presented through video conferencing. The court has fixed July 1 as the date for the next hearing.

ED Special Judge Rajiv Ranjan’s court has extended the judicial custody period of nine accused, including IAS Chhabi Ranjan, accused of illegally buying and selling 4.55 acres of army-occupied land in Bariatu Mauja, for two weeks.

Earlier, the accused lodged in jail were presented through video conferencing. The court has fixed July 1 as the date for the next hearing. Chhabi Ranjan has been in jail since May 4, 2023 in the case.

Police paper handed over by ED

Jharkhand News Along with Chhavi Ranjan (IAS Chhavi Ranjan), suspended revenue sub-inspector of Bargai zone Bhanu Pratap Prasad, Pradeep Bagchi, RIMS personnel Afsar Ali, Imtiaz Ahmed, Saddam Hussain, Talha Khan, Fayaz Ahmed and Amit Agarwal are in judicial custody. Charges will be framed soon in this. Police paper has been handed over by ED.

Some pages in it are not being read properly. Clear police paper has been demanded again by the accused, on which the hearing is going on.

ED will question Ejaz Khan

In the Rural Development Department’s contract commission case, ED has now summoned land dealer Ejaz Khan, resident of Chargharwa in Pundag area of ​​Ranchi. ED has called Ejaz Khan for questioning on Wednesday at its office located at Airport Road in Ranchi.

Ejaz Khan is accused of getting 18 decimal land purchased for Minister Alamgir Alam’s personal secretary Sanjeev Lal and Sanjeev Lal’s servant Jahangir Alam.

ED will ask him how he met Sanjeev Lal and Jahangir, how the money was paid and who else is involved in this deal apart from Sanjeev Lal and Jahangir. Currently, apart from Sanjeev Lal and Jahangir Alam, former minister Alamgir Alam is lodged in judicial custody in Birsa Munda Central Jail located at Hotwar in Ranchi.

ED’s investigation has revealed that Sanjeev Lal, Jahangir Alam and other close associates including the minister have earned immense wealth from the commission of crores collected in lieu of work order allocation.

Wherever Sanjeev Lal bought property, he also bought it in the name of Jahangir Alam. Earlier, the ED had recovered Rs 37.5 crore in cash from these locations.
