Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has got interim relief from the High Court. The court has stayed the personal appearance order issued by the ED. The ED had issued summons against Hemant Soren in the land scam case. Hemant Soren had challenged it in the High Court. The next hearing will be on December 16.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren has got interim relief from Jharkhand High Court. Justice A.K. Chaudhary’s bench on Wednesday stayed the order of personal appearance of Hemant Soren in the court. The bench has sought a reply from ED in this matter. The next hearing will be on December 16.

It is noteworthy that on November 25, the MP-MLA court of Ranchi rejected CM Hemant Soren’s petition for exemption from personal appearance in the court and directed him to appear on December 4. Hemant Soren had challenged this order in the High Court.

The CJM court had given this order

A complaint was filed in the CJM court against CM Hemant Soren in the case of disobeying the summons from the ED. The CJM court took cognizance of the matter and ordered Hemant Soren to appear, but he did not appear on several dates. Later the case was transferred to the MP-MLA court. On behalf of Hemant Soren

A petition was filed in the MP-MLA court for exemption from personal appearance. The court rejected the said application. In the complaint, ED has stated that Hemant Soren was summoned 10 times by ED in the land scam case, out of which Hemant Soren appeared before ED on only two summons. This is a disregard of ED summons.

Hearing postponed in MP-MLA court

A hearing was held in Ranchi’s MP-MLA court in the case of disobeying ED summons. During this, CM Hemant Soren informed that the High Court has stayed the appearance order. The hearing in the case should be postponed. On this, the court has postponed the hearing in the case till further orders.
