IMD Rain Alert: The second week of April is going on, but the weather in the country is still changing. In some places it is getting very hot, while in some places cold winds are blowing. Rain and storms in many states have affected the daily life of people. In such a situation, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rains, hailstorms and strong winds for the next few days in various parts of the country. The weather is likely to deteriorate especially in many areas of North India, Northeast, East and Central India.

Heavy rain likely in these states

Heavy rainfall is likely at some places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Kerala and Mahe.
Heavy rain warning has been issued in Bihar on April 11, Assam, Meghalaya from April 11 to 13 and Arunachal Pradesh and West Bengal from April 11 to 12.

Thunderstorm and hailstorm alert

  • Possibility of thunder, lightning, strong winds at speed of 50-60 km/h and hailstorm in Uttarakhand and Punjab.
  • Strong winds and rain may also occur with thunder in Jharkhand, East Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Vidarbha and other states.
  • Thundersquall warning in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh (East), Bihar, Assam and Meghalaya.
  • Hailstorm forecast in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab on April 11.

Danger of dust storm in Rajasthan

  • There is a possibility of dust storm in some parts of western Rajasthan on 11 April.
    Danger signal in sea areas too
  • Strong sea winds (35-55 km/hr) can blow in the sea in the Golf of Mannar, Comorin area, Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka coast and South-West Bay of Bengal.
  • Winds can also blow at a speed of 45-55 km/hr near the Oman coast.
