Yes, if you do not maintain minimum balance in your savings account, then PNB can deduct money directly from your account. What is the limit for which savings account

There is no need to maintain minimum balance for PNB’s basic savings accounts. However, it is mandatory for you to keep a minimum balance of Rs 25,000 in PNB Prudent Sweep Account, otherwise a penalty will be charged from you. Apart from this, there is different limit for PNB Unnati Saving Fund Account according to different areas. If your account is in a rural area branch, then you have to keep at least Rs 500.

For accounts in semi-urban areas, this limit is Rs 1000 and for accounts in urban and metro areas, this limit is Rs 2000. If you do not maintain this minimum balance limit for your PNB account, then the bank will directly deduct the penalty amount from your account.
