If you want to open a savings account in India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), a public sector bank under the Ministry of Posts and Communications, then you do not need to go to the branch or anywhere. You can also do this work online sitting at home. You can open Digital Savings Account through mobile in IPPB.
However, recently India Post Payments Bank has temporarily banned the opening of new digital savings bank accounts through all means. IPPB had said in a press release that India Post Payments Bank has temporarily stopped opening new digital savings accounts through all channels from May 18, 2023.
Who can open Digital Savings Account in IPPB
1. You must be at least 18 years old.
2. PAN card and Aadhaar card are necessary to open a digital savings account in IPPB. The account holder has to complete the KYC process at the nearest branch within one year of opening the Digital Savings Account.
Process to open online bank account in IPPB.
- Download IPPB App (IPPB APP) from Google Play Store or App Store in mobile phone.
- Open IPPB APP and click on Open Account Now.
- Enter your PAN card number and Aadhaar card number.
- After this you will get a one time password on the linked mobile number. Enter that OTP.
- Now enter all the information following the instructions.
- After entering the information click on submit. With this, a digital savings account will be opened.
- You can use the Digital Savings Account through the app.
