A scheme has also been launched for this, named Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS). Stations are being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS).
What is Amrit Bharat Station Scheme?
‘Amrit Bharat Station Scheme’ is a new policy launched on December 27, 2022 through the Ministry of Railways. In this plan, the development of stations has been envisaged from a long term point of view. The policy is based on long-term master planning and station-to-station implementation as per needs and demand.
What are the objectives of Amrit Bharat Station Scheme?
The goal of Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is to enhance the facilities beyond the minimum essential facilities. Its purpose is also to build Roof Plaza and City Center at the station. It caters to the introduction of new facilities as well as upgradation and replacement of existing facilities.
Scope of work under AMRUT BHARAT STATION YOJANA-
entry and exit at stations in ABSS, circulating area, waiting hall, toilets, lift/escalator, cleanliness, free Wi-Fi, promotion of local products through schemes like ‘One Station One Product’ Improvements in facilities like kiosks, better passenger information are included. This also includes systems, executive lounges, designated spaces for business meetings, landscaping, etc.
