55 year old farmer Charan Besra was crushed by a pickup van on NH-33 in Jamshedpur near Bhilaipahari at 6.30 am on Wednesday. In this incident the farmer died on the spot. Angered by the accident, the villagers blocked one side of the road with the dead body. Due to this, long queues of vehicles formed on the highway and people remained troubled.

After receiving information about the death of the farmer, the Circle Officer and Block Development Officer along with the police of MGM police station also arrived. He urged people to clear the jam. There was a jam on a side road for six hours.
The villagers were not ready to listen to anything without compensation and other assistance. The farmer has only one daughter, Sherpa Besra, on whose statement a case was registered. It was announced that the deceased’s daughter Sherpa would be given a residential house.
He told that the family was dependent on his father’s farming. We are financially devastated by his death. After the death of the farmer, a demonstration was held by burning tires on the road. However, later after the assurance of BDO-CO, the jam was removed.
