Chief Minister Champai Soren has passed the floor test in Jharkhand Assembly. 47 MLAs gave him their support. MLAs of Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal are also involved in this. Whereas 29 MLAs cast their votes in the opposition camp. CM Champai Soren fiercely targeted BJP while presenting the confidence motion.
In Jharkhand, Chief Minister Champai Soren has passed the floor test. 47 MLAs from alliance parties supported him. Whereas the opposition got 29 votes. During this, former Chief Minister Hemant Soren was also present.
The results of the floor test were announced by Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan. After the victory of Champai Soren, slogans were raised in support of the CM in the assembly. After this the assembly was adjourned for today and the next meeting will be held on Tuesday.
In the 81-seat Jharkhand Assembly, the majority figure is 41 MLAs. Today i.e. even before Monday’s floor test, CM Champai Soren had told that he has the support of 47 MLAs. He had claimed that the number of MLAs supporting Jharkhand Mukti Morcha could even reach 50. The Chief Minister had presented a confidence motion in the Assembly.
Which parties supported Champai Soren?
Hemant Soren was supported by Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal MLAs. CPIML MLAs have also extended their support to the Champai government. BJP has 26 MLAs in the state assembly and three MLAs from AJSU party are also in the opposition camp. After the arrest of Hemant Soren, Champai Soren took oath as Chief Minister on 2 February.
What did Champai Soren say in the assembly?
CM Champai Soren attacked BJP and also made serious allegations. He alleged that BJP tried to destabilize an elected government. On the arrest of former CM Hemant Soren, he said that he has been arrested in fake cases.
He has not committed any crime. Before presenting the trust motion, he alleged, “BJP is using central agencies to implicate Hemant Soren.” He also said that the new government of Jharkhand is “part two” of the Hemant Soren administration.

Hemant Soren had to resign before being arrested by the Enforcement Directorate. Central agency ED is investigating the alleged money laundering case against him. He is accused of being involved in a land scam.
Former CM Soren PMLA had reached the assembly for the trust vote after the court’s permission. In his speech in the Assembly, he challenged the ED to prove the cases against him. He said that if the cases are proved then he will leave politics.
