Electricity Department: The villagers say that the child died due to the negligence of the Electricity Department. High voltage electric wire has passed through the mango tree, due to which Sumit died on the spot. People blocked the Gomia-Lalpania road for four hours.

Bokaro. A 13-year-old boy who climbed a tree to pluck mangoes in Bokaro died after coming in contact with a high voltage wire. The case pertains to Tulbul Sundi hamlet of Gomiya police station area. Here Gulab Saav’s son Sumit Kumar came under the grip of 11,000 volt electric wire. Due to which he died on the mango tree itself. After this, the relatives and villagers blocked the Gomia-Lalpania road demanding compensation.

The villagers say that the child died due to the negligence of the electricity department. High voltage electric wire has passed through the mango tree, due to which Sumit died on the spot. People blocked the Gomia-Lalpania road for four hours. As soon as the information about the road jam was received, the people’s representatives started the initiative. Zip President Sunita Devi called the administrative officials on the spot.

Talks were held in front of Gomiya Block Development Officer Kapil Kumar. It was agreed to keep the dependent of the deceased Rs 4 lakh from the department and to keep one dependent on employment under the sensor. 10 thousand rupees were given to the family of the deceased for immediate cremation. After negotiation, the body was sent to the sub-divisional hospital Tenughat for postmortem. The road blockade was removed after about four hours.

Gomia BDO Kapil Kumar said that a 13-year-old child has died after coming under the grip of a high voltage wire on a mango tree. The family of the deceased has been assured Rs 4 lakh from the department and a dependent has been given employment under the sensor. At present, Rs 10,000 has been given for cremation.
